ecu conversion j30a1 auto to standard
Hey guys/girls. I was wondering if anyone out there knew if there was a way to convert the 99 accord 3.0 automatic ecu to a standard ecu. I have a 3.0 accord motor in my sandcar and Im trying to get it out of limp mode. It falls on its face at about quarter throttle and the scanner gives me the shift solenoid code. (cant remember what the number was at this time but believe it was sol B}. Maybe because it doesnt know what gear its in? Please help. Lotta money and time in this build and would love to feel this thing rip like i know it can. thx
There is no manual ECU for the J30. You could possibly use an ecu from a 2003 Acura CL Type S, which used a J32 and came in a manual variety. You may have luck looking for info on manual swaps for the year Accord corresponding with your engine year. I know people used the CL-S 6 speed to swap into those cars but there was some trickery involved into fooling the ECU to eliminate the problem you described. If you have the budget you may just be better off getting a standalone from AEM.
The main problem I have with a different engine computer is it has to have a distributor not coil packs. Did the 3.2 have a distributor model that was manual trans?
