2011 CRV ac clutch dead - bypass?
2011 CRV 2.4L - All wheel drive. A mechanic told me the a.c. clutch needs to be replaced (which I agree with) but told me there is no way to bypass the compressor (i dont need a.c.). Yet I keep finding bypass kits on places like rock auto. Can you bypass the clutch using something like this:?

It would help if we knew the original issue with the AC. If it's just the clutch, the clutch can be replaced. As an example (not exact):
Most techs don't want to bother with just the clutch as it is easier (and more lucrative) for them to just replace a compressor and recharge the system, than it is to do just the clutch. Although, from the tech's point of view and a warranty perspective, he may opt to avoid a potential return visit, if ANOTHER part of the system fails after doing a clutch. But without more info on what failed, it's difficult to determine what your options are.
Just ended up getting the whole new compressor off amazon for 200$ including a new belt and will replace it myself. Makes it worth it. Still not sure if that bypass would work with my car though, as the mechanic said a by-pass was not possible but it doesn't matter now
