1995 honda accord lx non vtec - vtec
Hello i just recently did a motor swap on my 1995 honda accord lx 2.2l manual. I went from the f22b2 non vtec motor to the f22b vtec version. My concern is rpms ranging from 4 thousand and higher make the car cut fuel in some sort of way me thinking the vtec solenoid not engaging becuase i still have my stock ecu. I just ordered my vtec ecu and was wondering if this will fix my vtec problem with just a simple plug and play or how do i wire the solenoid to the wiring harness or actual computer. This is my first honda swap and car swap in general.
Yup, without the VTEC system activated the engine will choke. Also the P0B ECU will not have the correct mapping for the highlift cam of the VTEC engine, so even if you did manually activate the VTEC solenoid the mapping(timing/fueling) would be all wrong from the P0B ECU.
P0A will have the additional VTEC pin and on 94/95s there is the VTEC pressure switch that also will need to be wired in with a ground.
Check the FAQ at the top of the page for B1 head onto A1 engine.
