Default 96 accord overheating issues

Once again I need the experts so recently i replaced the radiator, including the upper and lower hoses. there was smoking of the engine and eventually overheating the upper hose had ripped and spilled collant everywhere so i figured this was the reason for the smoke. but after replacing it the car still continues to run hot but no smoke. Is is the engine itself?

Check for other leaks. Replace thermostat. Gates or Honda brand. Aftermarket thermostats are known to fail

Thermostats in these are an issue. That is the 1st thing I always check. Buy top quality (test with no thermostat to be cheap).

I have the same car, and have had similar issues. I agree w the posts above that mention trying a new thermostat, either OEM or Gates. You haven't mentioned if your fans are kicking in to cool as they are supposed to do- I was having weird overheating issues and it turned out to be that the fan relay wasn't fully connected even though a visual inspection LOOKED like all was OK- Good luck and I am sure you can solve this easily!

as Suma said remove the thermostat first and leave it running until normal coolant temp and hopefully you will see the fans works then check all the hoses if all of them are hot.
if they are hot you need just a new thermostat.
