1998 Honda Accord slipping transmission
Purchased a 1998 Honda Accord for $750 car is in great shape but did buy it knowing that the transmission was slipping I have plugged a one scanner in came back with P0730 At shift control for the code what I am wondering is when I looked up what the code ment it didn't give me much detail as to if it was a selelnoid problem or transmission needs to be replaced any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated
I would be hesitant to do a drain and fill at this point. The fresh cleaning properties of the ATF could be a nail in the coffin for the trans.
You may want to start looking/ thinking about a replacement. Re manufactured units go for about 1,000-1,500 dollars. JDM ( Japanese Domestic Market) transmission can be had for $350.

Bring the car to a quality transmission shop and have then do diagnostics. You will need to have the transmissions pressure ports verified for correct pressure and various known good solenoids on hand to verify it is not a fault with a leaking solenoid.
You can verify that the shift/pressure switchs are not clogged on the screen.
If there are any other codes other than 730, have those checked/fixed first.
