Rebuilding 2nd gen CRV. How do I figure out where my engine was built? England or Jap
I want to get this right the first time, so I'm looking for any help I can get. My 2nd gen was given to me with a blown engine (thus the "given"]. So is ant to put the correct stuff into it, do a custom mild look.
I was told by someone that if your VIN starts with a J - it was built in Japan. I assume if it was anything else, then its England built.
If the 11th number is a "C" is a Japan built engine, if it a "U" is an England built. Found out from an engine builder today.
If your VIN starts with J, it was built in Japan and the motor will be the JDM version
If the VIN starts with SHH it is a UK built V and the engine will have European specs
If the VIN starts with SHH it is a UK built V and the engine will have European specs
Their are loads of site on the web which decode the VIN number, below is just one of them.
