98 Accord gear wont go to park after recent axle replacement...
I am an owner of a 98 honda accord. I had problems with the front bearings, so i decided to change both front knuckle with hub assembly and front cv axles. While i was replacing the front driver side cv axle, i had a little problem getting in to the transmission. After a few attempts, i noticed that i had damaged the snap ring😕.So, i replaced the new damaged one with the old one. Once i did that, the cv axle finally went in without no problems. Its been about 5 miles later, that i found myself parking the vehicle and could not get it to park. I inserted a flat head on the gear mechanism to unlock it and put it in park, but could not. I wiggle it and found no solution. I gave up and left it on neutral and i can turn on and off my car that way....Out of nowhere while i was driving and came to a stop i attempted to put it on park and was able to without no problem....My questions are.... Does the snap ring on the axle have anything to do with this??? Is my transmission going bad???? What precautions should i look for if it happens again???

I was thinking that same thing then i noticed that the rear mount is missing a bracket that holds to the transmission and its not even screwed on.
