Car sat for 3yrs, tried to start and wouldn't, just turned over. Took to shop and had them do a timing belt kit w/ water pump and seals (small oil leak needed fixing). Also had them put crank sensor in since they were in the area. Shop called and said dizzy was bad, I towed home and put on myself. Along with wires, spark plugs, and oil change. Cleared all codes and got 1361. The code only comes up when the car warms up. While in cold idile it runs like new, after it warms and drops under 1000rpm around 800rpm the CEL comes on with code 1361. Sometimes the car runs rough, sometimes it continues smoothly. On a cold AM it will run without light coming on for an hour. Warm day not even 15min.. cleaned egr assembly, cleaned crank sensor connectors, and ran injector cleaner. Along with seafoam treatment. Still get this p1361.. help pls

As you can see in part 27, the crank sensor is also the tdc sensor assembly so the code it's throwing is related to the job they did, it's not related to the distributor since it's not in there for your car it's in the crank sensor assembly. As long as it wasn't throwing this code before you went in there, they caused this code when they did their work and they are trying to con you into buying a new distributor.

Call them and tell them that and tell them they are on the hook for the job or you will report them to the state automotive bureau for trying to scam you. Tell them just like that.

 

the dizzy was bad along with the fuel pump so they weren't able to run the car. I already installed them and the car runs fine now!! Problem is this code comes up once the car goes out of cold idle. Sometime you won't even know the code happened unless your looking at the dash to see it. No change most times in how the car runs, it just goes into limp mode??? I checked the connections and cleaned them, they all look good.
