00 Accord 2.3L Rusty Rear Sub Frame
Well, I suppose it was inevitable but when servicing my front brakes this afternoon I noticed the rust on my rear sub frame (passenger side) has gotten quite bad. Basically I am planning on going on decently long road trip next week (2000 miles), is this just a terrible idea to drive it like this, thoughts?
I will plan to replace the rear sub frame piece this summer ( there is a lot written on the subject over on driveaccord, seems like it will be a pretty serious job).
I am looking for opinions on,
is this a major safety issue as it is, should I not take it on my trip?
or
is it safe to drive as it is?
The metal on the bottom is good. The picture attached is after I poked it with a screwdriver.

Well, I am going to take your advice and park it until I can get it fixed. Unfortunately, I will have to drive it to my parents (about a 4 hour drive) to have proper space. Seems like the job should be the most difficult repair to date for me. should.be.fun
