JDM Parts to Buy
Hi All,
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this kind of message.
I have a few coworkers that are going to Tokyo in September and they are asking if I want anything from there. Of course, the answer is JDM parts for my car. So the question is... What good JDM parts should I ask for? Preferably things that they can take on carry-on. If not possible to carry-on, shipping may be an option.
I have a 97 Integra RS, automatic.

Either or. I just wanted to be able to get something for my car that I cannot usually get in-person or online.
Looking for things that are not readily available to be purchased online or, if it is available online, is cheaper to buy in Japan.
It's a rare opportunity for me because I do not see myself going to Japan in the foreseeable future and not many of my acquaintances will be going to Japan either.

Getting parts from japan can be cheaper and they tend to have a lot of stuff that to them is old car junk but we over here love. Example, rear ITR seats sell for around 20-30 US dollars over there, not 200-300 like here. But being able to get parts from over there isn't a rare opportunity and you don't really do it by having your friends scope it out and bring parts over as their carry on luggage. There are a few shipping agencies (just websites you can go to) that specialize in shipping from Japan. And as far as finding parts to get, Japanese Yahoo auctions and upgarage.com/upgarage are great sources. Make sure you use google chrome as your browser so you can use its translate function as those pages will be in japanese. Also best to do it on a computer, not a phone. Buyee is the shipper I go through when purchasing from these sites.

I've had mixed luck with getting parts from Amayama that were discontinued in the states. According to their website, almost nothing is discontinued but when you actually buy the part they'll sometimes refund your money because it is discontinued and they just never updated it on the site. But yea, if they do have a part you're looking for then their shipping prices to north america are very good. If you're shipping from yahoo auctions or another site, make sure you go through Buyee for shipping.
