H22a emissions test
I have an emissions test coming up in January here in colorado (no smog). I have a 96 accord with a 98 JDM H22a. Is there any reason that I wont pass simply because I have different engine? Is there anything that I should know before going in? I have a nitrous setup too. Ive never been to one before, how does the format work? Thanks
I dunno how your state is.
If you have a cat and no exhaust leaks you should be fine.
Here in MD I don't think they even popped my hood last time. Always pass with real low emissions.
Edit: If they do pop the hood, and the tech is smart enough to realize that's not a stock motor, just say it's from a US prelude and all emissions controls are intact. I doubt they care as long as your emissions are under the regs.

Will they actually know the difference between JDM and US engines? Do they look at the VIN on the engine? Damn I hope not, im not afraid of the actually emissions, but just if they open my hood or not. Why would they open the hood in the first place?
