2000 accord front wheel noise & shake. PLZ help
hey fellaz
Ive got a 2000 Accord EX V6 3.0L. Car has 220k miles. Runs great and rides well. About a month ago I changed the front rotors and pads. Ever since I did that there was just a little brake rub noise on the front driver side , which was fine by me. Brakes worked great. Then about 2 weeks later it started squealing a little bit more. And when i apply the brakes about half way at about 35mph and below they started making a reert reert reert noise. Almost like 2 pieces of metal rubbing kinda... So i thought maybe is was the pads retaining clips. so i took them out. the metal rubbing sound (reert) went away about 85% of the time. But now the squeaking noise is worse, like at the same speed as the tire is rotating. all the time with out using the brakes. if i gently apply the brakes it will go away. now yesterday the car has a good shake at 65+mph.
i jacked up the car and checked for any wooble in tire to see if maybe the hub or bearings were bad. the Tires is tight. absolutely no wobble in all 4 tires.
Any ideas on whats going on? before i noticed the shake yesterday on the highway i thought maybe i needed to replace the caliper. but now im worried theres more to it.
Thx

220K and if the original wheel bearings they are probably a little on the sloppy side. You can unstake, loosen, retorque and restake the stub axle nut. If the nut rotates more then the bearings/races may be in need of replacement.
Recheck your wheels/rotors are sitting clean and flat onto the hubs.
Verify the lugnuts are properly torqued.
Verify the dustshields are not rubbing on the rotors.
Check your wheels for any missing weights, if it has been over 10K since you last had the wheels checked/balanced then you may want to have that done as well.
Verify you have tire pressures up to correct spec and even from left/right. Worn wheel bearing and deflated tires can exacerbate some shaking.
