Icon4 Transmission HELP PLZ

My automatic is acting up and I am wondering if a 5 speed trans from a d16y7 to bolt up to a f23a1?

Do you have the model years associated with the respective transmissions? Or better yet, the trans codes? From what I've heard most transmissions of this time period will match up easily.

No. F series do not mate to D series without an adapter. D series mates only to D series. F-Series can mate to H series however.

How is it acting up?
Engine running condition will affect how the transmission functions.
90-97 ATs are fairly bulletproof, and most of the fixes and repairs are easy and cheap(if not free) on these transmissions.
Find your two wire blue connector over by the passenger side kickpanel. Jumper it, turn ignition to II(ON) and watch for any codes from the CEL/D4 lamp. CEL and D4 lamp need to illuminate when turning the ignition to II(ON) normally, if not you will need to replace the bulbs so you can read any stored codes.
