can I run a piece of pipe off a short ram intake to make it a CAI in the summer?
My state's winter suck and are wet as all hell so I was think of installing a SRI instead of a CAI during the summers when it's just wetter instead of snowier, would you recommend that or should I stick to a SRI?
CAI pulls air from the stock location, which for a geezer like me, I appreciate the quieter tone when getting into the throttle. You can always add a bypass so if water covers the filter it will not hydrolock the engine. AEM has an Intake Bypass that can be used with a CAI to prevent water intrusion.
SRI will be louder and can get annoying. It will also be pulling air from the engine bay, so depending on where you live, that may or may not be a benefit.
If you like noise, SRI.
If you couldn't find a dealer selling replacement bolts for the stock air cleaner housing back in the 90's, CAI.

Yeah the noise I can live w/o my stock, housing has three broken bolts stuck in their spots so I'm thinking just buying a SRI while I dig out the out bolts than reconfigure it but I'll probably go CAI with a hydro shield and deal with it it for now. Thanks
