90 ED3 D Series Swap
So i'm swapping my stock d15b2 (bad clutch and trans) with a 90k d16y7 non-vtec. I'm not very mechanic savvy but i need my daily to run again. I've got tons of questions.
Here is what i have for the swap so far:
D16y7 with S40 trans
P06 ecu
Matching axles for trans
CAI (came with the engine and trans)
I also have all of the parts from the trans to the short shifter
I am looking into buying a cable to hydro conversion kit here
I know I'm missing the harness but is there anything else i need and can anyone help me find a harness? I've been told i need an Si harness from 96-2000
Help lol

If you're not very 'mechanic savvy', I would recommend just purchasing a plug-and-play harness from one of the many places that make them...Rywire, CJ's, Monotech, etc., otherwise you'll need to do some wiring. You will for sure need a TD02U distributor to match the P06 ECU.
I have figured out over the past couple months that the wiring harness will not work with the ecu without a jumper. I have decided to purchase a P2E ecu that belongs with the engine to make things easier. That being said, how do i know which ecu goes with my engine and harness? The d16y7 came out of a 96 DX and the harness is from a 99-00 dx. I know i need a 37820-P2E but what alphanumeric combination do i need for a 4-door 5spd? In addition, does anyone know if i can use the stock engine mounts? it looks like the side mount is close but i havent dropped in the engine yet to check.
You are going to need to do a DPFI to MPFI swap for this engine to work. You can find a PM6 ECU and stay OBD0, or you can convert to OBD1 and use the P06 you have, or you can convert to OBD2 and use the P2E. If you go OBD1 or OBD2, you will need a conversion harness at the ECU - if you stay OBD0, the PM6 will plug right in. Regardless, the DPFI to MPFI wiring must happen to do what you are planning to do. You don't have to match year of engine with year of ECU - just make sure the distributor matches the OBD revision...e.g. - if you stay OBD0, you need an OBD0 MPFI distributor; if you go to OBD1, you need an OBD1 distributor or an OBD2 distributor with a jumper harness, etc.
If you want the easiest route, I would recommend you stay OBD0, find a PM6 ECU, buy a TD18U distributor, and buy a pre-built engine wiring harness.

Update on the swap:
I purchased a 99-00 D16y7 DX LX Wiring harness and a P2E Ecu but it turns out that the harness is obd2b and not obd2a like the engine, trans, and ecu that i have now is. Do i just need a jumper or should i just buckle down and pay $130 for the correct wiring harness? Trying to finish this soon.
In addition, i was trying to use the stock mounts from my EF but the mounting bracket wont fit for the side mount and I'm unsure about the trans mount. I am also thinking that there is more to the swap than what is listed above. Do i need to do a MPFI conversion if the new engine has MPFI already? Help lol
