Default Are all jdm H22A engine the same?

i heard some people say they are the same block and engine mechanically but just run different ecu and harness. This engine came with a car that is OBD2 since from 1997 but I’m willing to buy an older H22A harness if the block would be plug and play. I have the p28 ecu. Thanks for any tech help I can’t find good info anywhere

The higher hp output H22A engines run different cams, pistons, intakes and exhaust manifolds along with different fuel and ignition maps in the ECU.

OBD1 Black top H22A 92-96 Prelude Si VTEC 200hp/160tq
OBD2 Black top H22A 97-01 Prelude SiR 200hp/160tq
OBD2 Red top H22A 97-01 Prelude Type-S, SiR S, 99-01 Accord Euro-R 220hp/165tq
OBD2 Red top H22A7 98-02 Accord Type R 220hp/165tq

Lots of swap info in the FAQ pages on this forum. What harness and ECU would best suit your chassis depends on what you are putting the engine into?????
