91 accord High Idle HELP!!!!
My accord idles around 2500-3000 rpm hot or cold, and is hard to start. I have replaced the iacv (Idle air control valve) and i have cleaned the Fast Idle valve. I disassembled the TB and cleaned it also.
I done some troubleshooting from what little i know about these little motors i unplugged the iacv and my idle speed went down, and unplugged the tps(throttle positioning sensor) all while the engine is running. I have verified all vacuum lines are plugged up and sprayed carb cleaner to find a leak and couldnt find one. What am i missing i need this this running right again Thanks!!!!

an idle that high would seem to suggest the throttle place isnt fully closing, check the throttle cable and ensure it has a lil bit of slack
if it has slack its possible the throttle stop screw has been misadjusted and you may need to readjust it, check if the yellow paint has been tampered with, indicating it has been tampered with before

How did the problem reveal itself? Did it just pop up out of nowhere, or did it progressively get worse? Has anyone worked on your car recently before the issue appeared?
I had the same exact problem after I got mine running after buying it from someone on CL. Crank pulley bolt snapped and threw everything out of time. I thought I'd slap it back together to see if there was any damage. Turns out 2 valves were bent so I was basically running on 3 cyclinders and I had a hell of a time getting it to idle. My would fluctuate up and down, just like you describe. So I didn't think to check compression, which I should've done before anything else and went through the trouble of the ICV and FIV. Long story short, I replaced the head and all is well.
