So had a low battery for a while, and been kick-starting it until the kickstarter became jammed the other day after the scooter started, making a terrible noise. I took the kickstarter off and fixed the spring so that now it isn't jammed anymore, but after putting a new battery in when I try and electric start it's just making noise from down near the kickstarter and won't start up. Not sure what the problem is, as the kickstarter's no longer jammed, so is it one of the components the kick-start attaches too that's faulty?

 

Also an update, without the kickstarter on the ruckus did start up, so I'm afraid when I lost the washer and replaced it with another I found on the floor that goes under the screw that connects to the half-moon gear may be the wrong size and preventing the ruckus from starting up; any idea what thickness this washer is supposed to be? May have to spend a bunch more time looking for it on the workshop floor/drawers

 

I can't find my manual at the moment(recently moved, its a 2013 I'm 99% sure, but can anyone tell me if there's a washer that goes below the starter driven gear? In older manuals there doesn't look like there's a washer, but as it is now the gear appears to get jammed because the washer I replaced it with is perhaps the wrong thickness? Can anyone tell me if a washer does indeed go under the starter driven gear in order to get the height right, and if so where can I order it? If anyone could post a picture of the part diagram of the kickstarter from that year that would be a huge help(I hope anyways!)
