Accord 2002 Replaced V-tech controller check-engine light still on

Accord 2002 Replaced V-tech controller check-engine light still on
Original error message = V-tech controller so had it replaced with new unit (not just the gaskets). Still have a check-engine light on. Waiting for code reader, but until then anyone have any ideas? Thx.
