I have a 2002 Honda CR-V and occasionally in stop and go traffic, when I go from a complete abrupt stop to trying to go again, my car stalls and turns off. Not completely, but the battery light is on and I can't go. Radio and everything else is on but I can't give the engine gas. Usually, I just turn the car off, wait 5 secs., and turn it back on again and it works just fine. I've recently replaced the battery and it was happening before and after the new battery so that's not it. Any ideas?

 

That light is the charging system indicator. There may be an issue with the alternator or wire/cable connections.

 

At normal operating temperature and vehicle in the parked position what is your engine RPM?

For stick shift RPM is approximately 650 and for automatic 750
