2006 CR-V 2.2 i-CDTi - difficult to move on full lock at low speeds
Hi,
I've not long purchased a 2006 CR-V 2.2 I-CDTI. When maneuvering at low speeds say 0-5mph with the steering lock on full left or right, it's difficult to get moving. Doing so takes a lot from the engine and the moment you take your foot off of the accelerator the car comes to an immediate halt as though the brakes have been applied. Opening up the steering slighly alleviates the problem and it appears to have no problems rolling in a straight line. Is this normal for a CR-V?
Further info -
Its had the Diff oil changed with all of the going round in circles part included, and also had both rear calipers and discs replaced (both calipers were seized).
Have noticed that while fuel economy is ok up to about 60mph it drops off significantly at 70mph (again this may be normal for a CR-V)
Many thanks in advance.

Running on stock wheels?
I´ve noticed that my RD9 is making small knocking sounds on full steering lock and is a bit "slower"
I´m running stock diameter on the tires but +35 and 16x7,5" on the rims

Thanks for reply. Yes running on stock rims. The knocking sound you have is quite likely to be a CV joint or joints on their way out. Might also notice a rumble noise from the front in a straight line at a constant speed which will be affected by accelerating, decelerating.
The issue I'm experiencing is more like if you are trying to pull out of a parking space or similar with full lock on, then you need to apply quite a bit of accelerator and clutch slip to keep it moving. Taking your foot off of the accelerator is the equivalent of applying the brakes suddenly. The car just stops, no roll on what so ever.
