Default 1994 accord wagon ex 5 speed speedo won't work

So first off before i messed with it, it would jump and vtech would work sometimes switched out vss and checked continuity and resistance on the 3 wires the yellow one had 970ohms of resistance so i tried fixing that but i couldnt find any wiring diagrams checked continuity from the back of fuse box to sensor and it was fine so some other wire there has high resistance but everything works besides speedo, tried giving the sensor a diffrent ignition power with a fuse still doesnt work and code 17 keeps coming on, doesn't move or do anything anymore could a bad cluster cause the code ??

you can try cleaning it but normally simply replacing it is whats needed

Replace the sensor. Baring that you need a new circuit board for the speedo or the pins/wiring in the harness has degraded

No a failed Speed Sensor causes both CEL and a transmission light (if its an auto) The cluster is just a bunch of wiring to display incoming data to the driver. When I got my 94 EX, the speedo didnt work period until I replaced the speed sensor with an oem one. Ive had civics where the harness was faulty (Pins falling out) that required replacement. Regardless of whether you replaced the wiring, perhaps you should check the connector itself on both sides, they go bad too.

i replaced the conector at the speed sensor and the sensor itself is new the wire to power it the yellow one i replaced completely and set it up with its own fuse the other wires did well on continuity from pin b10 on ecu wiring orange wire and the ground was good, also its a mannual
