Question regarding 2002 Civic LX lugnuts
Hello everyone. New owner of a DD 7th gen. Got the vehicle and proceeded to spend a lot of money on parts and labor the previous owner for maintenance that was neglected on the car. One of the hubcaps was missing so I went ahead and replaced them with some aftermarkets, then realized that the lugnuts were all not the same, some even required different size wrenches to remove. Pretty annoying, but I also realized that the stock hubcaps go into the holes behind the lugnuts, probably to prevent theft and from them falling off. The hubcaps I replaced them with just go over the rim, so do not go behind the lugs. When I went to the Honda dealer they told me I needed lugnuts with a washer installed on them (or a similar setup with washers), sounds like to prevent the hubcaps from moving and to prevent from breaking them when tightening the lugs, but since I dont have those hubs anymore, what type of lugs should I be using for the rims? I have not replaced them yet, I know probably is not the smartest idea but wanted some insight/opinion from you all in the forums.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Whether or not the lug nuts have washers is not the issue. If you're using factory steel wheels, you need to ensure you have the proper ball-type seat lug nuts, otherwise the lug nuts will not seat properly to the wheels and will be a safety risk.
for stock hub caps youd need these

and for aftermarket hubcaps id use the smaller ones
