b16 wont rev

Default b16 wont rev

ok,the car is a 91 dx.all the wiring has been done correct.the motor is a b16a.the motor runs perfect under 3k but when i try to rev it,when it gets to 3k,it sputters,backfires,and wont go over 3k.it is throwing a crankl angle sensor code but i cant seem to clear it.i have put a new fuel filter,pluggs,wires,of new rotor button.the dizzy loooked a lil rusted and i was thinking of changing it . you guys have any ideas??

I am guessing the distributor is gone. Also check your timing, both cam and distributor timing, just to make sure that your t-belt has not skipped a tooth.

crank angle sensor wont let u rev past 3500 or somewhere around there.... ha sthis problem twice...
what u can do its try and make ssure ur dizzy wiring it s100% correct... if not invert the 2 CKP sensor cables... that was my problem last time... remember to reset the ecu few times while working on it....

what ecu are you running with the motor and what distributor.. are they both obd1? or obd? most likely its comming from the distribotr wiirng.

thanx fellas, im thinkin its the dizzy too.ok,so the ckp lines are the two green/yellow wires comming from the dizzy right?so i jus join those two and run them back to the ecu? im not good with obds but im posotive the dizzy is obd and so is the ecu(from a 89 xsi)imma go try a few more things.once agian,thanx for the help

Its the dizzy. It happen to me before. You gotta replace it or rebuild it.
