99 honda accord front end weaves and play in both front whhels
99 accord ex . There is play in both front wheels from side to side . The play is the same on both wheels . Tie rods are fine . Has new tires and a recent 4 wheel alignment . Car feels like its being blown all over the road at higher speeds . Could the rack and pinion be bad ?
If you've confirmed there is play then you should be able to tell where it's coming from. Jack the car up and rock the tires back and forth while someone watches for where the play is coming from. Could be the inner tie rods.
Manny is spot on. Usually, if the wheel rocks from top to bottom, the wheels bearings are worn. Side to side movement is usually a steering or suspension component. If you ruled out the inner and outer tie rod ends and don't see any movement there, the lower ball joints are likely the cause. This can be seen as Manny stated. Sometimes the upper ball joints are worn, but not as common from my experience.
Hope this helps!

I had an upper ball joint (passenger) that moved like an inch. Easy to move with the wheel off the ground. Pretty alarming. Promptly replaced both upper arms and it drives like a new car.
