will a B21A1 go into an 89 prelude si?
I wanted to put an h22a in my prelude but now im broke and just want it driveable. It currently has a nearly dead b20a5 with 252,000+ miles. It's main bearing seal is shot, so i figure if i gotta pull the motor i might as well get a low mileage one or something. the B21A1 was standard in the 90-91's and has alot more torque. Would it bolt to my transmission and motor mounts?
Thanks,

Please don't put that smoke belching lump of crap in your car. Trust me. The B21s had the first generation of sythetic cylinder sleeves and they start burning a lot of oil close to 100k. I have had a couple of these engines. Just get a low mileage B20 engine. It has slightly higher compression so you will be making what the B21 does stock. None of them are more than about 110WHP stock.
b20a5 - 135hp 127 tq
b21a1 - 140hp 135 tq
power wise the b21 is definately noticably stronger. i did that swap and am glad i did. the swap is a direct bolt up. the only thing you need to change is the metal coolant tube on the back of the block. just swap the tubes from the 2.0 with the 2.1 and you will be able to hook up your shift linkage cables, otherwise you will not be able to hook up your lower cable to the bracket.
as far as burning oil, yes the b21 does burn oil, but simply just add more when it is down. big deal. if you really want to swap in a motor that is a direct bolt up and has more power than both of those motors, find yourself a jdm b20a motor with 143 hp and i think somthing like 138 ft lbs or tq. that is also a direct bolt up.
