2004 Honda DX change to HX engine .immobilizer help
2004 Honda Civic Coupe: swapping out a DX Engine to a HX so i will have ECU and have the key that goes with it. Is it possible to get the key to work without going to the dealership? Or will I need to replace the immobilizer ring in my car with the HX one that matches the key and ECU? Just want to know the easiest route.
I believe you have to go to the dealer. I think they re-program the ECU to accept a different key. I don't know of any way around taking it to the dealer :\
