Stock wheel size differed between the Si and non Si models.

I believe 16" was stock for non Si and 17" is stock on Si models.

My winters are 04-05 Acura TSX (71731) 17" rims and my summers are Works Emotion xd9 18" wheels. I have the Si and believe it requires 17" to clear the brake calipers.

If by 235mm, you mean wide, then yes, but with a cost. That wide of a tire will rub your fenders and inner wheel arches severely in bumps and tight turns and will usually require spacers or higher offset wheels to keep them from rubbing on your suspension components as well. The standard sizes are 17x7JJ 215/45R17 for Si and 16x6(.5?) 195-205/50R16 for base trim up to EX models.
If you plan on getting super wide tires and rims, you will have to get spacers to give the proper clearance inside the wheel wells, and you might have to stagger the fitment front to rear for better performance ( rear wheels would not necessarily need to be wider, but the front ones will need to be a different offset to allow the whole bit to stay flush to the fenders ( I believe the standard for wheel protrusion is not more than an inch of tread outside the fenders, but that might only be for trucks and off-road vehicles ).

 

My summers are 225/40 R18's. They don't have any issues on my Si. The car is lowered a touch with Skunk2 Pro C coilovers. Not slammed, just performance drop with about a 1 inch gap above the tires and clears spead bumps without issue.

I probably wouldn't go any wider than the 225/40. I don't recall what the offset is for the xd9's. I did find it when I was looking into the rims after I got the car. The wheels don't stick out past the fender flare much if at all, right to the edge if I remember correctly.

I'll have to look up how to measure the offset again. I think these are the 7.5 inch rims.

Will first gen TSX wheels/tires fit in 8th gen Civic?

 

Yes, 16 inch diameter wheels will work on an 8th Gen Civic.

 

I think it may have a problem with the Si.

At least that's the impression I got when I was looking to buy some wheels for my winters. Guy asked if it was the Si and told me to get the 17" TSX rims.

 

The 8th Gen Si will still fit 16" rims, but they will be tight to the callipers. The recommended rim size is 17" for certain, but 16" will fit. If you are concerned, try to get a 16" rim loosely up on the hub and see if the brakes are clear of the rim inside diameter.

 

I have 17" rims for my Si, but I did a Type R front caliper convserion on my car and 16" won't even get close now. S2K front rotors.
The suspension is still stock. The HFP wheels are my summer wheels. I run the OEM Enkei wheels with Michelin X-Ice I3 tires for the winter.
