Icon5 I'm out of town and could use some insight car won't start but there are no codes

I'm looking for some insight as to what possibly might be the problem with my 03 Honda Civic LX 1.7L (nonVTEC if that matters) and why it won't start. I've searched the internet and found nothing like what I'm experiencing. I'd like to give you a little information before I explain what is going on if y'all will indulge me. Let me say I have a Fixd sensor that tells me what codes it might have, I have also had the engine replaced (reman) in 6/2015, the crankshaft position sensor in 5/2016, camshaft position sensor in 6/2016, battery in 8/2016, alternator in 8/2016, fuel pump in 5/2017, fuel filter in 8/2017, spark plugs in 12/2017, and ignition coils in 12/2017.

Now to the problem, it began a few days before it stopped running completely. The first time I would go out to start it the car would start no problem but I would go to leave again and it wouldn't start right away, if I left it for a few minutes it would eventually start. One morning I finally went out and it would crank but not start. A few days prior when it would start intermittently it shook like crazy when I was trying to start it but it finally started and I got a P0325 Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction code on my Fixd. There have been no other codes since that one but it hasn't started since I cleared that one either.

A friend put his engine code reader/scanner on it and confirmed that there were no codes on it he also tried to start the car and stated that it was not reading any RMPs either. The check engine light is not on. Now I know y'all can't diagnose the car but as I'm out of state helping a friend (who just moved here) and don't know any good honest mechanics (I know there are out there) that are not going to try and rip me off just because I am a woman (believe me it does happen) I thought I'd ask on here and see if y'all might be able to give me some ideas as to what it might be and how not to get ripped off. Any help that I can get would be greatly appreciated because although I have the knowledge for bare basics (oil, spark plugs, tires) this is way out of my league.

Thank you all in advance for any help you can give me.

Because its cranking and not starting, while showing no current error codes... it leads me to believe there's either no fuel/spark or a possible dead ECU. I'm sure you've got enough fuel in the car, and having replaced the bulk of the items I would first check (within the last year), I'm leaning more towards a dead ECU.

Doesn't it take several minutes of cranking before it will throw a code when a no start condition exists and codes were cleared?

I'm not sure if this question is intended for me but - it is not "throwing a code" even after several minutes of cranking

yes it comes on initially and then turns off like all the other lights

When you try to start the car, does the malfunction indicator light (MIL aka Check Engine Light) at least come on?

I've had people tell me that the car might not show any error codes because it's not starting but I don't know if that's true or not ... but is there a way to test the ECU to see if it's dead or if I should be trying to figure out if it's something else

it's time to check for fuel and check for spark using a spark tester

There is about half a tank of gas in the car and I've tested already checked the spark plugs for spark and I did not get any (although having never done that before I'm not sure I did it right) and as I said before the car is not registering any RPMs when I try to start it

If the crank sensor is dead then the ECU would think that the engine wasn't turning over and as a result not fireup the fuel pump, but I would think you might have got a code for that at some point. Also I think that if no oil pressure shows up when cranking then the ECU won't fire up the fuel pump as well. Good Luck

I was wondering if the immobilizer light is supposed to be green because mine is red but it is not flashing or anything

The ECU should still store codes, even if it doesn't start.

If that's the case then there are no codes ... thank you, I was starting to wonder if maybe I wasn't getting a code I should be getting because the car isn't starting

Icon4 is my non-vtec engine an interference engine?

I am trying to fix my 2003 honda civic lx 1.7l (NON-VTEC ) and the timing belt is crazy loose so I'm trying to find out if it's an interference engine and so I might have more issues than just the timing belt but all the info I'm finding on line is for vtec engines. can anyone here tell me?

yes, it's interference, if the belt jumped teeth due to timing belt looseness that would cause your car to not start

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that tried to help ... I got my car up and going again ... it ended up being the crankshaft position sensor even though for whatever reason there was no code and it was only about a year and a half old ... just thought y'all would like to know how it went and what it ended up being ... thanks again for all the help
