should i rebuild my b21a1 engine?
so i want to fix up my old 91 prelude but the engine is basically toast. the b21 has FRM sleeves which eat rings so it burns oil like that's its job. so i'm wondering if i should rebuild it, i would like to take it to the track at some point and i don't really know yet but i might also want to turbo it. could resleeving it be an option? i would rather just get an old b20a but they are getting pretty hard to find, i h ave also thought about an h22 swap but i'd rather keep the same type of engine it came with if possibly
edit: sorry if this is in the wrong section, i just filled it out in the pop up window when i was searching around for stuff and didn't know it was going to just post it, mods are welcome to move it where it goes

this is the correct section.
You can simply re-ring it and slap it back together and be good to go again for a while. If you do this, DO NOT HONE the cylinders! It will destroy them! Just get new rings, set the gaps, slap it together with new bearings and gaskets and call it a day.
My suggestion though if you plan to keep it long term, especially if you want to boost it, get a b20a5/b20a/b20a# block, and have it bored to fit the oem b21 pistons you already have. Boom, done, steel cyl b21. I ran like that for several years; about 4 months bone stock, and then 4+ years with boost making over 250hp 250tq. The stock pistons won't last much past that level though, the ringlands will crack. So if you want over 250hp, you'll definitely need forged pistons. And either oem h23a1 rods, or aftermarket rods. I personally am still using OEM h23a1 rods at 410hp 395tq, revving to 7500, zero issues for almost 100k miles now.
