Some yahoo put a factory spoiler on my 92, but it's a teal colored piece that was painted with a white that doesn't match my car, and is flaking badly. The spoiler was installed with just two screws, neither of which are long enough, so it's not really screwed down. Also, this person drilled holes in the deck lid, but didn't use them. Naturally, there's a little water getting into the trunk. Should I sand & paint & fill the rusty holes, or should I replace the whole thing?

Because of the water, the trunk floor/spare tire cover is moldy and coming apart. There's no rust to the floor itself, thankfully. The factory spare was removed as well, which makes me uncomfortable. Can someone tell me where to get a factory spare, plus a factory trunk floor? I need the carpet, the pad, and the base.

 

You can weld the holes, buy rubber/plastic hole plugs, or replace the trunk. If it were me I'd replace. Take the carpet out and shampoo it and let it air dry. You can look online but stuff for a 92 are getting harder to find all the time. The based you can make out of some wood from Home Depot that comes in this sheets. I hope that helps?

 

It does, thank you. I have actually considered building the floor with some plywood and a few hinges so I can get to the spare.

As for the deck lid, I think I'm going to clean the holes, paint them, and plug them. When I find a good lid to replace it, I'll do that.
