EP3 mods?
Hey I'm a newbie to the mod scene and I just got a 2003 EP3 as my first car as a hand me down. Are there any recommended mods to the car? The car is pretty much stock everything except a DC Sports cold air intake.
All depends on what you are looking to get out of it. Suspension was always a bit of an issue, but the HFP suspension is long gone, the A-SPEC suspension from the RSX I believe could still be sourced but you'd have to search for that and then order bushings for the rear struts to get them to fit your EP3.
Yes, I've got the A-Spec kit and it works well; it only lowers the car 3/4" - 1". Which is enough to me, and any lower really messes up the EP3's geometry.
I've had mine about 2 1/2 years. For a newbie to the car, it's hard to tell exactly what you want. What are you looking to mod?
My favorite mods so far are: (I'm ignoring my Type R K20A swap, though that's right up there; it's a good deal of money)
17x8 rims
Rear Civic Type R sway bar (from JDMland.com)
Dual DIN Pioneer Apple CarPlay ready stereo
Buddy Club short shift kit with metal bushings (though I would recommend the new Hybrid Racing kit instead these days)
Aforementioned A-Spec suspension kit
I'd also say that you should look at a 5-lug front hub conversion - better brakes and more wheel options that way.
Enjoy the new car. It's a bit sluggish with the stock engine, though a Hondata reflash opens up things a little if you're going to be keeping the stock engine.
