Icon4 b18c swap

Hi, I have a 2000 honda civic HX model (similar to DX) with stock motor. I'm planning to swap with b18c. Some people have said it should be plug and play and some put me down by saying that I would always have issues with new swap plus wiring problem. PLEASE PLEASE HELP, would this swap get me into a lot of troubles or it should be fine and I would be happy with new engine installed in my car?

Plug n play only if you are putting the exact motor in as the broken one you took out. Not if you put a motor from a different series.
Troubles, if u have no idea what you are doing. With proper research and study, it will be trouble free. There are many swap guides avaiable, on this forum and on the web. Start reading.
it is not plug n play. You will need to do some wiring, adding and extenting. How comfortable are you with that?
you need to have a good, clear understanding of what need to be done.
you need to ask yourself:
what is your budget?
If this is something you will attempt on your own?
Or have a reputable shop complete the task?
what is your mechanical level?
will you need to pass smog/emission in your State?

do you have spare vehicle to get around while this car is down?
What ecu will you run? Obd2 or obd1.
wil you run oem motor mounts or aftermarket?

from all that ive read. It is rather a simple, easy swap. Just takes time.

I'm not doing it myslef, I'm currently looking for someone professional to do it. I want to get after market mount and the ecu is obd1. I do have another car to drive around, but all I need to know if it's done well, will it still give me problems since it's a different engine? I'm willing to spend money as long as it runs and drive well afterward.
Thanks

The HX uses a 7-wire primary O2 sensor and the B18C you want to install uses a 4-wire primary O2 sensor. The distributor plug will also be dramatically different. However, a competent shop can handle these issues and the swap will provide Honda levels of reliability if you leave it stock.
