New clutch won't disengage 1992 Honda Accord
Bought a EFT HD clutch kit. Installed it with old flywheel on. Would not disengage. EFT sent me another pressure plate and i replaced my old flywheel with a EFT OEM flywheeel. New flywheel, clutch disk, pressure plate and TOB, all EFT. Replaced master and slave cylinder. Bleed them and adjusted rod on MC. Clutch still will only partially disengage.can not out into gear while running. Fork is tight and spring is on and does not look bent. Clutch worked before I changed it but got to slipping so bad I had to change the clutch.
I didn't have a lot of grease at the time to put on the spines. Don't know if that could cause a problem. The clutch fork moves about 1 inch. Is that normal? When pushing the pedal there is pressure for about half way then there is a lot of pressure like hard pedel the rest of the way to the floor.
any ideas or something I overlooked? Never had this problem before.

I'm not familiar with the brand of clutch, could be a defective clutch but I do doubt its solely due to the brand. You may have a blockage in the hydraulic system or a problem with the accumulator. Try cleaning the lines out with compressed air. If you've replaced the master and slave then that pretty much rules those out. Did you examine the transmission's input shaft for any damage? It is possible that the clutch disc is sticking or caught on the input shaft.

I figured it out. Had to put a 1/8th inch spacer in to bring the clutch frok closer to the pressure plate. The heavy duty EFT clutch work fine. Grabs hard. I should have just bought a Luk or Exedy and saved a lot time figuring out the problem. Go with tried and trusted brands!!!! Had to pull it 3 times to get it right

what do u think I tried first before I put a spacer in? Not going to do the hardest thing first. the slave rod will only come out so far even with the master rod adjusted all the way out. I put in a new master and slave cylinder and adjusted the rod. still didn't work. the pressure plate was thinner and more towards the engine which made it so the. clutch fork wouldn't push into the pressure plate enough even with full movement of the fork. So... putting the washer behind the pivot stud...moving the clutch fork closer to the pressure plate.....now able to push the fingers in to fully release the clutch. adjusted the master rod back so it wasn't all the way out and still not enough before. Guess what...it fixed the problem. Geometry!!!
I should have. it wasn't much more. pissed me off having to pull it apart 3 times once after instal with a new pressure plate they sent having same issue then again to shim the pivot.
