Default Thoughts on Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Hey everyone,

I have a 1999 Accord LX with close to 300K on it. I'd like to refresh the brakes including the brake lines.

I was initially thinking to go with OEM Honda brake lines, but I looked on RockAuto, and it looks like I can get a pair of StopTech front brake lines for $37.

What are your thoughts, guys?

Thanks and happy holidays.

stainless lines are intended for ppl that are going to lap their car, it will help eliminate fade over multiple laps as the brakes heat up. No sense in running them really if the rest of your brake components are stock or you not going to track the car IMO.

If you don't mind the cost, then it's one more upgrade and one with better performance. The concept is that the braided stainless lines will provide a firmer pedal due to their strength and resistance to changing pressures. You'll notice a change in pedal feel but it's gonna be slight.

This isn't exactly true especially at this price. I would do it. The brake pedal feel will go from soft to immediate. I just used these very brake lines on my 2014 BMW 228i and the difference is very noticeable. The ability to control how much brake pressure is applied with your toes is very useful in emergency situations. You don't need to feel like it's a waste if all you want is a safer car on the street. I will be putting these on my 95 Accord Wagon very soon as well.
