Icon5 91 Crx Shift Link....

Morning, My sons friend has a crx and last night we were unable to remove link bolt. so i cut it. now it spins and doesn't come out. tried hammering it out. nothing. Any suggestions please. anything will be a great help. you guys rock.

Are you referring to where the linkage fits onto the transmission shaft? Because there's not supposed to be a bolt there, there is supposed to be a drift pin/tension pin/bitch pin there.

no where shifter and rod connect. its loose when in gear and very loose in neutral. trying to help this young man.

If the shifter has a lot of "slop" in it, it's usually not because of where the shifter connects to the linkage, but where the linkage connects to the transmission. There is supposed to be a drift pin in there, but a lot of people actually replace that with a bolt, which creates side-to-side slop. If you've already cut the bolt at the shifter (trying to drop the linkage down from the shifter?) then I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't come out. Do you have any good pictures of what you're talking about, by chance?

I do not but will show you what im speaking about through a pic from my parts catalog. i work in parts for honda. but want to do it myself. the more i learn the better. I appreciate your help brother.
