I have a 97 civic dx with a 98 single cam vtec in it. when my son got the car. wrong harness was plugged in the ecu. i ordered correct ecu and harness. vtec still a no go. does it need to be programmed in order for vtec to work?

 

You redid the full engine harness?

 

I ordered new harness. and vtec plugged right in. nothing.

 

Check that oil pressure is reaching the solenoid, and that the solenoid is getting power.
