I am picking up a K20A2 trans for my K20A3 EP3. I've never bought a transmission before, but I want to know what to look for/ how it should look.
I know this isn't enough to go on, but can anyone please give me pointers and tips on how to spot trans problems? This particular trans is $200
How do I know if it grinds, pops out, or just doesn't go in?

that particular transmission looked like it had been sandblasted and might have rust. really you can't tell if it's bad or not until you link it up.

 

I don't see the reverse lock-out solenoid... what is the four digit transmission code on the white sticker you see in your picture above ???

 

Spin the shaft by hand, check it for side to side play, make sure all the gears engage and spin smoothly.
