Default Ecu Identification Help

Ok so I just bought a 92 EG Hatch. It has a b16a3 swap and runs pretty decent for the most part but the car doesn’t seem like it is crossing vtec. The owner originally said it had a LS Ecu that was chipped so I went and bought a chipped p28 from a guy in town. But neither Ecu has the stickers on the side or on top inside the Ecu itself. I’ve searched around and it seems that they’re both vtec but I’m unsure and don’t have the knowledge to identify them. I took pictures of both and as far as Honda’s car I’m no noob but not a full on expert either. Just hoping someone can identify them for me so I can rule out wether they’re the problem with vtec or not. Thanks. Suppose to be the P28
Suppose to be a LS Ecu.

C60, J10, Q101, R201, IC14, & D11 are added to a non-VTEC ECU to make VTEC work.
on very brief inspection, it looks like everything looks like it's there in both ECUs.

they are both chipped, the first pic with a basic socket and the second has a ZIF socket.

the interesting part.... both MCUs (the M66207) are marked 301, which means the factory maps for a P06 (Civic DX - D15B7)
which makes no difference once chipped, but it's odd that it was ID'd as a LS ECU. (maybe he meant the maps on the chip??)

bottom line, you have two almost identical ECUs, both rely on the chip.

Ok well that actually helps a lot. Thanks
one more thing. Since they’re chipped would there be any benefit to switching to a P28 chipped or it doesn’t really matter once I get the Ecu tuned for my car?

When you take a P06 (Civic DX) or P74/75 (Integra LS/RS) and add the VTEC components to the ECU board... you have turned the ECU into a P28 essentially... only it has a different sticker/part number on the outside. So once tuned, it doesn't really make a difference since they will function the same.

to add to what JRCivic1 said

once chipped the ECU becomes a slave to the info in the chip.

this is the reasoning behind removing the ID sticker, cause it's not really that anymore.
(I'm not one of them personally)
