Default 91 civic FPR

I have a 91 civic LX USA with a dual port throttle body. It has a very rare Fuel pressure regulator. All the ones on the market come from the same Mexican factory and claim 43 psi max-they all test at 45 psi. I need 35 to 41 psi. I could butcher my old unit and put on the add on kit---or buy the AEM unit but it's $145.00. there are also some cheaper ones simalar to the AEM but no Banjo bolt. Will one of the cheaper ones fit my car?
Any one know of a proper FPR for my year?

What engine is in your car?
d16a6 requires 41 psi
If you have a spike it might be an issue elsewhere.

And it's 41 psi with vacuum hose discomnected.

I would get the AEM unit as new oem ones will cost almost the same

I have a 1.5l 16 valve single cam dual port throttle body. The tests were done to spec-----vac. hose disconected and blocked. All units but my old unit run a consistant 45.

The above is quite close to mine. The Haines manual states that for these motors 35 to 41 psi max. My old regulator runs 42 to 44 psi and the car runs poorly once heated up. The new units that all run 45 psi can not be kept running after they warm up. Just start to open the throttle and they stall out too rich. My old unit I can nurse the throttle open and it sputters but after it passes 2500rpm smooths out. The new units stall out!
Salvage yard opperators have warned me that only 2 years civics used this FPR and all the other Civics and Accuras run a different one-they know about this!

If the car runs poorly once heated up, that would be less fuel I think. As a car runs rich upon cold start.

THE HAINES MANUAL IS NOT THE CORRECT MANUAL TO SERVICE YOUR CAR. THE CORRECT MANUAL IS MADE BY HELMS AND ONLY BY HELMS, ALL OTHERS ARE NOT ADEQUATE TO SERVICE THE AVERAGE PORTA POTTY.Off my soapbox, please resume getting incorrect information from inferior sources until proper manual is sourced.
