I’ve got a 2001 civic, standard transmission. Had some issues with the alternator a while back but after putting in an alternator and fresh battery I think that issue is solved. The car starts up fine and drives but suddenly stalls and then won’t turn on again sometimes for 24 hours. All the dash lights come on and car goes totally dead. Seems to happen more often than not when the vehicle is warmed up and the lights are turned on. Lights can be turned on or off when the vehicle first starts running without issues. I’ve checked the ignition as it seems to be a known issue and rechecked my alternator bolts after noticing a bulletin on it. I don’t have access to a code reader at home but my final guess is this thing needs either a new fuse block or an exorcism or both. Anyone have any other ideas?

 

Have you checked the engine grounds? Also, most auto parts stores will scan codes for free.
