Default Mystery box, 90 LX

Under the dash on the floor in the center, there's a box with a cover. One side comes off easy, there's 2 plugs in it. The other side seems to beheld in by 1 screw that's pointed toward the back of the car and consequently a pain to get at.
The 88 CRX doesn't have this, at least not in that location. As I recall, my '00 Si had something similar that got in the way swapping the O2 sensor.

So what is it?

Ive searched, can't even find a picture. I would just pull it out or check the wiring schematic, but I'm at work.

I found it while trying to track down the click sound when I try to start it (CRX clicks on the left where the relay is, this clicks near the center, hard to tell). I was actually pulling the dash from the CRX and thought; I wonder how crappy this would look in a sedan with a maroon interior...
Note; it won't actually start, I think a previous owner did the 2 piece rod conversion, might be why it clicks and the motor doesn't turn (can bar it over about 3/4 turn before it stops).

Sweet deal, thank you all.

I can verify that the passenger side doesn't do anything, it's in the "up" position. I never had the key on and door closed on the driver's side. I'll concern myself with that after it's running.

Speaking of the beeping, is it supposed to change? It's like it gets faster the longer you leave the key on.
Every Honda I've had and those of friends and family make the same sound. From an 85 hatch, to a whatever year Crosstour. None of them had auto seat belts though.

your talking about the beeping when you have the key in and a door open
that beep will still be there the speaker is somewhere else but i could never find it haha as far as i know they almost all sound the same
its a honda thing
the beeping from the black box i showed you thou theres a speaker thats in there also and it makes the same sound

and when mine broke it would beep the whole time i was driving it didnt matter if the doors were closed if your seatbelt was clicked in or not it just kept beeping
and on a long drive it drives you nuts

I can see where that'd be irritating. If you pull the box, will the buckles above the door just stay up?

Hopefully I can mess with the LX this weekend and actually accomplish something. Still have to strip the CRX and call up the yard, but it keeps being cold and dark out when I'm home.

I'm about 15 minutes to the Atlantic, I'll get home about 5:10 and it will be straight up black out.
I can work in the cold, its light enough at 6;30 now, 20 degrees no problem. I just don't like working in bad lighting - I help keep a few hundred vehicles in motion, local, long haul, yard, farms, etc and sadly I have to spend too much time at a computer instead of in the shop and by the time I get home my eyes just want a rest.

edit: yes, the rotted out CRX, I've gotta make control arms for it too (I'm taking all the parts I can, but it still has to roll on to the flatbed)
