94 accord question about vss.
So my speedometer stopped working. I've done troubleshooting and I've searched online.
CEL is on.
I've changed the speed senser and I've changed the cluster.
I've confirmed the gear in the tranny moves when the tire moves.
Ive disassembled the gear shaft clean it and made sure everything rotates.
Now my question is can the vss gear shaft go bad?
Any other troubleshooting tips?
Should I get a whole new vss and gear shaft?
TIA

What is the code that is stored causing the CEL to come on?
Jumper the two wire blue connector under the glove box door.
Turn ignition to II(ON).
Watch the CEL and D4 for blinking.
Record code(s).
Report back here.

I should have mentioned I have a manual transmission. No D4 light.
So this morning I checked the connector of the vss between blk and orange for pulse readings and I got a steady 4.7 volts. Not pulsing at all when spinning the wheel.
Then I went to the 16 pin connector at the cluster for the speedo and the same constant 4.7 v from ground to orange wire while the vehicle is in motion.
Since the voltage wasn't pulsing then the sensor is bad correct?
I got a sensor from the junk yard but what are the chances I got a another bad sensor....
