How do I know which transmission shift solenoid to buy for my 2001 Honda accord? I see the dual one which cost over $200 and then I see single ones that cost $45.

 

1. What is the issue?
2. Is this a 4 or 6 cylinder car?
3. Was there a trouble code, if so; post the actual code?

 

When I give it gas, it will not go. When it was going, it would move but wouldn't shift into gear then it stopped after I got about a half a mile up the road and came to a stop light. I was told that the transmission shift solenoid was bad however when I go online to order the part, I see one with a double cylinder for over $200 and then single ones for like $45. My sons car is a 4 cylinder and I don't have a trouble code.
