replacing the catalytic converter
i just got my high flow cat in today for my 97 gsr and went out to try and remove the old one and i couldnt get to all the bolts. they are behind brackets and i couldnt get a wrench in there to get them off. have any of yall put in a new cat. if yall have can yall give me some suggestions or tips. if yall have a link to a article where they took one off that would be great to. Thanks.
i have a craftsman tool set, and the small socket wrench fit in there, then i took the handle-bars from my old bike, bent them around a little bit, then used that as a breaker bar.
you jsut gotta be creative when building tools haha. Something that might help out is if you unbolt your cat from your header, then unbolt the axle back portion and take it out in one piece (cat to axle pipe, and cat) then disconnect the cat from there, then re-attach your hi-flo one and do reverse order! any more questions IM me
hope i helped,
Ryan

Yall should pull off the heat sheild yo. Then yall be able to access the last 14mm bolt. Or yall could undo the hangers on the b-pipe and undo the header collector bolts and then pull the exhaust down and yall should have access to the last bolt. Good luck yall.

bolts on the cat are a b!tch to take off. on one side i used a ratched and the other side i used a socket wrench. i had to use them at the same time. so on one side i would be pushing on the socket wrench and on the other i would be pulling on the ratchet. pain in the ***..
