ok hello everyone who reads this im new here..this is the problem I'm having with my Honda Accord when I crank the car up idles rough I have to keep my foot on the gas pedal to keep it running when I take my foot off the gas pedal it turns off also it has no power meaning I can hold the brake and push the gas pedal and it would not move or rev up and the fastest that the car will go is 20 miles i change fuel filter the fuel pump is good i hear it when i turn the key etc it has new spark plugs and wires..also the engine shakes when its about to stall any ideas would be helpful thanks for your time

 

Sounds like it could be that the catalytic converter is clogged. That or your not getting good enough fuel, air or spark at the cylinders. You say that fuel pump is operating and you have new spark plugs, have you checked that there is fuel pressure at the injectors and that there is a good bright white spark at all the spark plugs?

How long has this been going on for, did it just start happening or was it gradual? Had you been doing anything to the engine prior to this issue?

 

well i just recently put the car back on the road i havent check fuel pressure im learning all this as we type. it just recently started this maybe a week or two ago.

 

How long has it been sitting and how old is the gas in the tank? Could just be bad gas if you didn't drain/refresh the old fuel.
