S light remains on dashbboard

I have a 1991 Honda Accord. Suddenly this afternoon a green square with an S appeared on my dashboard. The S is not blinking. What could be the issue? Is my car safe to drive short distances?

See this link to retrieve the trouble code(s) due to the "S" light by jumping the Service Check Connector on the passenger side with a wire or small paper clip:

Honda Electronic Transmission Problem- Troubleshoot, Inspection, Repair, Replace.

Are you have any drivability problems?
