is this ECU worth it?
Hey what's up guys? I was browsing through eBay looking for ECU's since I think mine is causing all my problems and came across this one.. Can anyone tell me if its worth it and if I should go for it? I've never heard of these guys so I'm not too sure.

You do not want a rev limit of 9000 rpms...that's just too dangerous...
Also it likely disables CEL codes so you wouldn't even know you have problems.
Get a stock ecu.

yeah, that's a bad thing
no offense, but you remind me off a guy that lives on eBay, he sees something he *thinks* will help out his problems, so he buys it.
his TPS senosr went bad on him, so i told him he needed to buy a new throttle body to get a TPS sensor, so you know what he does, he buys a new TB from ebay that doesn't even have a TPS sensor

You can just use a dremel to slice slits in the TPC rivets and unscrew the TPS!

Dude why the hell did you tell him that?

b/c they are specifically calibrated to match the TB
Doesn't sound like too bad of a deal to me... The default specs the seller lists are a 9000rpm Rev limit and 5500rpm VTEC engagement - both of which are dumb. But the auction says the guy can custom program rev limit and VTEC engagement. First, I'd ask the guy if it disables the CEL - because like SatanSRV said, that would be bad. Stay away if it it does not report CEL codes. Then find out how close the fuel and timing maps are to stock. They can be tweeked a tad for a nice little gain in the midrange and again at the very top-end, but other than that, they should be close to stock. Then I'd get the Rev limiter set to cut fuel at maybe 7800-7900rpm. And I'd get VTEC engagement set to like 4800-4900rpm.
