Up underneath your passenger glove box, there is a blue plug that is plugged in. Unplug this, take a paper clip, bend it in a U shape and place it in the plug. Turn on your car and watch the number of blinks that your check engine lot goes through. I believe if it is 1 long blink, that is ten, followed by short blinks, or something like that. (this worked for me)

and .. if for whatever reason something happens to your car ... don't blame me

It applies to all 5th gens. Don't start your car but turn the key forward to the run position.

Check behind your ashtray. It should be a sixteen pin connector on the 97. If it is u need a PGM tester to diagnos it( u have to go to the dealership).

The 94 and 95 are different from the 96 and 97. Different connector and location. 94-95 are OBD1, 96-97 are OBD2.
