Accord does not respond with a lot of gas, and engine can shut off
So a few months ago, my engine started to make a LOT of noise. My mechanic said it was the muffler, so I ignored it. Its a 2000 Honda Accord with 260K miles on it. Today, I was driving and a heard a tiny pop it sounded like, and then whenever I pushed down deep on the gas pedal, it felt like the car wouldn't accelerate. It would however, make a unholy amount of noise. On the drive home, the only way to go was to essentially keep tapping on the gas. If I ever pushed down hard, it wouldn't respond. When I got home, I put it in park, and tried to rev the engine. After a little bit, the engine just turned off. Any ideas?
Yes, but its been on for a couple years now. Honestly, I don't remember what it was on for, but it wasn't anything major. But you're right, it could have clicked on now with some useful info.
